The department is working torwards establishing a tree nursery at Tigoni. Being in charge of the environment, the department takes a lead in encouraging environment conservation by planting trees. Every year, the University of Nairobi through its staff and students have contributed to conservation of the environment by engaging in tree planting exercise in different parts of the country.
