Week of Italian Language in the world - Invitation to a conference

The Department of Linguistics, Languages and Literature in collaboration with the Embassy of Italy will on Friday, October 22, 2021, host a conference dubbed "From the Dark Wood to Paradise: Dante Alighieri at University of Nairobi." The initiative is part of the "Week of the Italian Language in the World"  The event will be live on Facebook facebook.com/IICNairobi2016  from 2:30 pm. The aim of the conference is to introduce Dante Alighieri and its poetic to the students of the Faculty of Arts.  During the event, there will be the presentation of the audio-book "From the Dark Wood to Paradise" (https://www.spreaker.com/show/dalla-selva-oscura-al-paradiso), in which some parts of the Divine Comedy have been translated into 33 languages, including Swahili. There will also be a reading session of some verses of the Divine Comedy in Italian, English and Swahili and the screening of the film "The Sky over Kibera" by Marco Martinelli (Teatro delle Albe).
