This is to invite you to the Training Trainers for Teacher Education and Management in Kenya (TOTEMK) workshop opening ceremony (virtual) scheduled for November 8, 2021, at 8.30 a.m. TOTEMK targets to strengthen capacity for teacher education and institutional management in Kenya and is a product of a partnership between the University of Nairobi, Faculty of Education and the University of Helsinki, Faculty of Educational Sciences. At the end of the training, the participants will be expected to comprehend the role of teachers in higher education teaching to ensure successful implementation of the Competency Based Curriculum (CBC) in Kenyan Schools. TOTEMK seeks to support the on-going reforms in Kenya’s education sector.

Hokkaido University President’s Fellowship for 2022. Hokkaido University offers this fellowship to our inter-university partners with whom we seek to develop stronger ties, and I hope that we will accept a candidate from your university. Self-supported international students with excellent academic records as well as a strong interest in Hokkaido University and in Japanese culture are eligible to apply. Please recommend one student from your university that can start at HU in October 2022. Applications must be sent by January 7th, 2022 without fail. Please submit the scanned data if you cannot send them by post because of the effect of the new coronavirus. Invitation to GCA Africa Adaptation Acceleration Day

On Tuesday, October 26, 2021 from 2:00 pm, The Global Center on Adaptation, in partnership with the African Development Bank, the African Union and the Africa Adaptation Initiative, will share the key findings of the “State and Trends in Adaptation in Africa Report 2021 – How Adaptation Can Make Africa Safer, Greener and More Prosperous in a Warming World” (STA21) during a virtual event at the University of Nairobi hosted by the Government of Kenya under the leadership of Uhuru Kenyatta, President of Kenya.   The Global Center on Adaptation STA 2021 report outlines the economic benefits of climate adaptation on the continent.
